What’s It Worth? A Bracelet Of Stunning Beauty And Value

This month we bought a magnificent piece from an Indiana jeweler. A piece of art. And we bought it cheaply. Why? Because of its length.

In the world of antique jewelry, few things strike Katrina’s fancy like fine emeralds and Georgian-era design. We recently acquired this treasure for the cost of the gold and the emeralds, in spite of it being a one-of-a-kind piece of art. It was offered at a Sotheby’s auction decades ago at an $18,000 to 22,000
estimate. It failed at auction because of its short 6.3-inch size. It is in its original fitted box, comes with GIA certification confirming natural Colombian emeralds.

Sotheby’s even mentioned the extraordinary quality of these emeralds, and the pic shows why. These emeralds are among the finest we’ve ever seen, with a dazzling deep green hue and impeccable clarity. (Most emeralds are not as clean as these and have naturally occurring imperfections.)

The Magnificence Of Emeralds And Gold

Our acquisition cost? Under $15,000. The primary reason for this bargain price was the length – a petite 6.3 inches suitable only for a smaller wrist. Despite this, we recognized its intrinsic value, and knew that, should we get stuck with it, the bracelet could be sold for its components alone – with over $8,000
in gold and several stunning emeralds!

We aim to find a buyer who will appreciate this incredible piece of history and are offering it at a modest profit. We hope to keep it intact, of course! While it would appraise for retail at well over $50,000, the diminutive size will keep its Fair Market Value lower.

Come see it in our St. Pete store, where it is priced at $19,500.
